Vicky Montes is running for re-election to East Area Director and Chair because:

East Area is a power-house, but the power needs to be felt by all members. As the Chair, she will lead through improved use of our powerful cluster structures and the facilitation of improved connections at all levels.   

She seeks to build the union we need through a structure-based organizing model that is closely connected to daily classroom, school, and community issues.

She will fight against the unprecedented increase in the demands on all educators under Carvahlo and the systemic federal attacks on our immigrant communities, civil rights, education dept, and labor unions.

25th year educator (5 as College Advisor and 15 as a Secondary English teacher), Sec Ed Com Chair (2023 – current), Member of the Steering Committee, Bargaining Team, CFT and AFT Committees, and proud parent of 3 LAUSD current/former students living in Lincoln Height.
